Is BeastyTools completely free?
Yes, the transcription beta is free to use. We simply ask that you stay within the daily usage limits so everyone gets fast results.
What limits should I know about?
Each browser token can run up to 10 jobs per day and each audio upload must be 30 minutes or shorter. IP-based limits also prevent abuse.
Do you keep my files after transcribing?
No. The original audio, temporary WAV conversion, and transcript are deleted automatically once the response is returned to you.
How many languages are supported?
We leverage Whisper and GPT models that handle 50+ languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Hindi, Japanese, and more.
Which audio or video formats work?
Common formats such as MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, MP4, and MOV are supported. If ffmpeg can open it, the tool can transcribe it.
Can the AI detect multiple speakers?
Yes, Whisper identifies speaker changes, and we preserve paragraph structure so different voices read naturally. Explicit speaker labels are not added yet.
Can I download the transcript?
Absolutely. Once a job finishes, the page exposes a “Download as .txt” button so you can save the cleaned text instantly.
