How to crop an image online with this tool

The editor keeps everything in one central block on the page so you can focus on the actual image. You only need a few steps to crop a picture and save the result.

Why use an online image cropper instead of a full editor

Most situations do not require heavy image software. A focused online image crop tool is often enough when you only need to hide private details, cut away empty space or keep a specific part of a screenshot.

FAQ – Online image crop & cutter

Is this image crop tool free to use?

Yes. You can open the page, upload a supported image and download the cropped version without creating an account. Fair usage limits may apply in the future to keep performance stable for everyone.

What image formats can I upload and download?

You can upload common raster images such as JPG, PNG, AVIF, TIFF and WebP. For the download, you can choose between PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF and TIFF depending on whether you prefer transparency support, smaller size, modern web formats or print/archiving formats.

Does cropping reduce the quality of my picture?

Cropping simply cuts away the parts of the image you do not want. A small amount of recompression can happen when exporting to JPG, WebP, PNG, AVIF or TIFF, which is normal for these formats. If you want to preserve sharp edges and transparency, PNG is often the safest option.

Is this the same as resizing an image?

No. Cropping changes the visible area of the picture by cutting away parts you do not need. Resizing changes the dimensions (width and height) while keeping the whole image. This page focuses on cropping; a dedicated resizer can be used separately.

Are my images sent to a server?

PNG, JPG and WebP crops are handled directly in your browser using the canvas API. AVIF and TIFF exports use a small server-side conversion step based on the same engine as our image converter and resizer tools.
